The current ACT has four sections plus an essay: English, math, reading, and science. It’s a good test if you feel strong in science. If you feel weak in vocabulary, the ACT is also a great option. If you’re able to work quickly, the ACT is again a good option. You must have completed level 2 trigonometry if you’re going to take the ACT because they will ask you some questions about it. The SAT on the other hand covers 3 major areas: reading, math, and writing. The SAT is great for students with strong vocabulary as well as reading and writing skills. If you prefer shorter sections, the SAT, again, will be better for you. If you’re naturally inclined to deciphering tricks, the SAT may be a good fit for you. Lastly, taking a diagnostic test for each test will give you a great idea about which test you’ll perform better on.
