The probability of an event happening will always be a number less than 1 (often given as decimals, fractions, or percents.) It is calculated with the ratio of number of successful events out of number of possible outcomes. For, a die is numbered from 1-6, so there are 6 possible outcomes. The probability of rolling a 2 is 1/6, the probability of rolling a 5 is 1/6, the probability of rolling an even number is 3/6 = 1/2 , and the probability of rolling a number greater than 1 is 5/6.
