We can classify, or name a polynomial with two words: the first word represents the highest exponent (called the degree) of the polynomial, and the second word is the number of terms. Degree 0 is called constant, degree 1 is linear, degree 2 is quadratic, degree 3 is cubic, degree 4 is quartic or 4th degree, degree 5 is quintic or 5th degree, etc. For one term, we call it a monomial, two terms is a binomial, three terms is a trinomial, four or more terms is a polynomial.
